For Job Seekers
Your IT Career in Japan
Starts Here
Japan has a 780,000-person technology talent gap. Indian engineers are actively in demand. IJK provides the full bridge — language, culture, placement, and settlement.
In-Demand Skills
What Japanese Companies Are Hiring
Fresh Graduates (0-2 yrs)
Japan is one of the few markets actively hiring fresh engineering graduates from India. JLPT N4 preferred. We provide language prep.
Mid-Career Engineers (3-8 yrs)
The highest demand segment. Java backend, AWS cloud, and full-stack profiles are in particular demand from Tokyo-based product companies.
Senior / Tech Leads (8+ yrs)
Japanese companies building global tech teams seek experienced architects and engineering leads. Senior packages are highly competitive.
Japanese Language Training
From Zero to N3 — We Train You
You don't need Japanese to apply — but you do need a basic foundation before you arrive. IJK's language pathway takes you from complete beginner (N5) through to conversational Japanese (N3) alongside your placement process.
Hiragana, Katakana, 100 Kanji, basic greetings. 8 weeks online.
Basic conversations, workplace Japanese. 12 weeks online.
Daily communication, reading comprehension. 20 weeks.
"Language is not a barrier — it's a preparation"
Every candidate in our program begins language training on day one, regardless of experience level. By the time you reach Japan, you'll have enough Japanese to navigate daily life confidently.
Training is included in IJK's placement service at no extra cost for candidates.

FAQ
Common Questions from Candidates
Do I need to know Japanese to get a job in Japan?
Not necessarily. Many Japanese tech companies accept N3 or even N4 level Japanese, especially for engineering roles. IJK includes language training as part of the placement process. Basic Japanese (N5) is enough to start your application.
What salary can I expect in Japan?
Junior engineers (0-3 years): ¥3.5M–¥5M/year. Mid-career (3-8 years): ¥5M–¥8M/year. Senior engineers: ¥8M–¥12M+. This includes full social insurance (health, pension). Convert at current exchange rates for INR equivalent.
How long does the placement process take?
Typically 3-6 months from registration to Japan arrival, depending on visa processing times. Language preparation runs in parallel and doesn't extend the timeline significantly.
Can my family come with me to Japan?
Yes. The Engineer/Specialist in Humanities visa allows you to bring your spouse and dependents after receiving your work permit. IJKaizen.com assists with family arrival support on the Japan side.
What is the Engineer/Specialist visa?
Japan's main work visa for IT professionals. Requires a bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) or 10+ years equivalent experience. Valid initially for 1-5 years, renewable. IJK guides the full application.
Is IJK's service free for candidates?
Yes. Our placement service is free for candidates. We are compensated by Japanese employers when a placement is successful — standard recruiting model.
